Women for Women

The women of Amboseli were delighted and pleasantly surprised to see their work featured by one of the major international department stores this past summer. Although the featured pieces were machine-made, the realization that Maasai beaded designs were in style and celebrated around the world, gave the women extra drive, motivation and determination to keep creating and looking for direct markets for their products. The ladies shared samples (see photo above) of their handmade bracelets, whose design had been replicated by the store without credit. Hope was in the air.

Amboseli women are excited about their future and wish to request the globally conscious consumer to support them by purchasing their beaded works of art. This will enable them to educate their children and strengthen their families and communities.
