Educate a Girl

The lead in photo captures the Amboseli landscape and three community leaders, including the area chief. It was taken by the Kazana team during a guided tour of the region. Per the chief, the building ahead, with a burnt orange roof and green paint, is the nearest primary school in the area. Inside one of the classrooms is the wall pictured above. The words on the wall reaffirm the spirit of a people — Peaceful. Joyous. Kind. Loving. Creative.

Amboseli women bead passionately and tirelessly in order to give their daughters a chance to learn in one of the modest classrooms shown here. These industrious moms work to provide a better future for their girls, positioning them to compete in today’s global economy. Their only wish is that the global family will support their efforts by purchasing their handmade items and offering them access to markets.
