Women

Spending time and working with Maasai women is the closest to serenity one can get. The deep, reflective and inspired conversations make one proud to be called woman.  

This photo was taken on a bright sunny day after a beading workshop with the women of Isinya, Kenya. Designer Samantha V (in blue) shared her contemporary designs with the group and introduced them to new gems and charms to help add more appeal to the valuable Maasai beadwork. The women discussed ways to get the new items into the local and regional markets.

Agnes Ntiya (in burgundy attire), a dynamic leader and superb beader, generously hosts the weekly group meetings in her home. She has also helped create unique memory wire bracelets with silver hummingbird charms for the local market.
