The Blueprint

Tanzanian Social Entrepreneur Martin Kariongi (pictured above speaking to Terrat women) has created the blueprint that KAZANA aspires to replicate in Maasailand, Kenya. His work has won many international awards, including the coveted Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship and the Social Entrepreneur of the Year Award, sponsored by The World Economic Forum.

In 2013, CNN profiled Kariongi's women's empowerment initiative on its African Voices program. Consequently, the Kazana team had a chance to see the work firsthand and was greatly inspired by the incredible success stories of the Maasai women living in Terrat, Simanjiro, Tanzania.
